A peek at other places

This is the introduction to one of my more 'secret'
projects.
"We are here, we are not on TV, not in the papers. We are not film stars, we are not successful, in any conventional sense of the word. We don't really know what to say, or how best to say it, BUT we know we want to say something.
This is our desperate effort.... Our silent scream."
I love it and yet I am not 'officially' connected to it.
I wonder if one day we will not be afraid of our web posts coming back to bite us in the ass. I wonder if there will be a transparency across the board so that we all own up to our little projects unafraid that we may get judged on the content.
Sorry for not posting in an age. I am posting other places and still collecting content to stick on the web for the world to see. I am even messing with audio downloads. If you want to know more you know how to contact me.

Innocence is worth hanging on to

I got this by email and posted it on another site. I
really wanted to blog it here as well though.
"A few years ago, when I worked as a nurse at St Cross, I got to know a little girl named Lisa who was suffering from a serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her five-year-old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save Lisa." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?" Being young, the boy had misunderstood the doctor. He thought he was going to have to give her all his blood."

To be properly informed, you need different
sources.
Information is a product like other products you consume; it should never be monopolized because monopolies tend to abuse. It doesn't necessarily mean that media will lie to you, but as humans, we can only see things based on our own viewpoint, and this is necessarily subjective. There is nothing wrong with a newspaper or broadcast network that has some orientation: media is in the business of creating opinion, but you must never forget to look at the other sides of the story.
